OUR PROJECTS

FEATURED PROJECTS

REGIONS WE'VE HELPED SCALING

For more than 10 years, we've partnered with over 500 companies and regional organizations to create more than $300 million in economic activity. Each project represents real growth, aligned ecosystems, and communities working together to help local businesses scale and strengthen their regions.

Manizales-Mas

Manizales-Mas is the world’s first full-blown entrepreneurship ecosystem project and has been presented at Harvard, MIT, the World Economic Forum, and the Scale Up Institute. Launched in 2010, Manizales-Mas is a dynamic and forceful coalition of over 15 local and national institutions who, with the professional leadership of our team and other experts from Babson College and elsewhere, have created a culture of growth. Thousands of new jobs, dozens of new investments, hundreds of new export contracts and a new dynamism and pride have swept Manizales, making it a model for emulation throughout Colombia and Latin America. Key partners include the Luker FoundationAutonoma University of Manizales, and the Manizales Chamber of Commerce (as well as others).

Scale Up Trinidad & Tobago

In 2019 we launched Scale Up Trinidad & Tobago (SUTT) which to date has consisted of five cohorts of Scalerator T&T, supported by Unit Trust Corporation and the Ministry of Trade and Industry. To date (end of 2025) 55 companies representing TT$850 million in revenue and 1,000+ employees have participated.

Scalerator NEO

Four cohorts of over 55 growing companies in Scalerator Northeast Ohio have, since 2016, created tremendous growth with over $300 million in economic activity that is scaling up. Companies come from Akron, Youngstown, and Greater Cleveland and have included construction firms, food equipment makers, acoustics designers, an elderly day care franchise, and even a leading active shooter training firm.  Key partners include the Burton D. Morgan Foundation and the Richard J. Fasenmyer Foundation.

Scale Up Quetzaltenango (Xela)

In 2018, in affiliation with the Babson Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Platform, we launched an ambitious entrepreneurship ecosytem project in the city of Quetzaltenango (Xela) in western Guatemala. Despite Xela’s reputation as a source of emigration and unemployment, the 18 participating firms in Scale Up Xela’s inaugural have enthusiastically, ambitiously and successfully embraced growth. Within eight weeks of the Scalerator launch, most of the Xela companies were communicating new growth and inspiring a new culture of growth and achievement within the region. Key partners include Fundesa and local universities and has been highlighted in the Harvard Business Review.

Scale Up Atlantic Canada

In 2018 we launched the inaugural Scale Up Atlantic Canada Scalerator, in collaboration with the University of New BrunswickOpportunities New Brunswick and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. The first 13 participating firms, ranging from food to software to industrial equipment ventures, all experienced new growth and dozens of growth events including new exports and customers.
